My name is Patrice Herrera, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, emergency, and trauma nurse. I have spent over 20 years working with, and learning from, extraordinarily talented and wise mentors who fueled my passion for helping people in physical and mental health crises. I began as a paramedic and worked my way through a BSN and MSN. I have worked extensively (and primarily) with active-duty military, veterans, EMS, fire, and police, along with other Emergency Medical Professionals (physicians, nurses, PAs, NPs). I earned my Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in May of 2023. As front-line workers, you deserve a mental health professional who understands the unique challenges and demands of your profession. We know those in professional service rarely get the 9-5 work day, which is why we offer hours in the evening and outside of normal business hours, including Sundays (call the office to schedule Sunday appointments). We have two locations to serve your needs in Ames and West Des Moines. I look forward to meeting and working with you on the goals and issues important to you!
